why compost?
The fashion industry is the second largest polluter in the world.
Underwear is one of the most difficult articles of clothing to dispose of. It can’t be donated or resold, and often ends up in the trash when it's no longer usable. This contributes to the 26 billion pounds of clothing and textiles that end up in landfills every year. Due to the fact that 80% of textiles are now made from plastic-based, synthetic materials like polyester, nylon, and spandex—derived from fossil fuels—they typically remain in landfills for hundreds of years, contributing to devastating environmental pollution.
Composting is a climate crisis antidote, that actually nourishes the planets microbiome layers. This all-natural process turns used underwear back into Earth in as little as two weeks, once planted in the ground. In order to combat the growing fashion waste crisis, we created essentials that are equally as good for you as they are for the environment.
